How is class time structured? The student's work cycle will involve both one-on-one (or small-group) lessons and self-selecting work from their shelves. Children select work based on lessons they have received to independently follow-up on activities and work towards mastery. Every afternoon will include whole-group time where children will get the opportunity to work, explore, or discuss together as a group.
How do you assess progress without traditional testing? We use observations, portfolio work, and individual check-ins to assess students' growth. Instead of grades, students receive meaningful feedback that helps them set goals and reflect on their learning.
Will there be homework? Montessori work emphasizes mastery rather than homework. We will occasionally provide optional follow-up activities to extend the learning to home. If there are any projects that students may need to work on at home this will be communicated.
What if I have more than one child? We offer a 10% sibling discount for families enrolling more than one child.
Is there a long-term option as my child grows? Yes! Our Elementary Program is designed to grow with your child, continuing through age 12. This allows children to stay in a familiar, supportive community as they grow and deepen their learning.
Can my child transition to traditional school later? Yes! Montessori students develop strong academic and executive functioning skills that make them adaptable in any learning environment. The self-discipline and problem-solving abilities they gain are valuable in all educational settings.
